Seresto pesticide cat collar adjustable up to 38 cm
The package contains a collar.
All the features of Seresto Cat Collar:
- Pharmaceutical product
- Target species: cat
- For the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis) for 7-8 months.
- The product protects the environment surrounding the animal from the development of flea larvae for 10 weeks.
- Seresto can be used as part of a treatment strategy to control Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD).
- The product has persistent acaricidal (killing) efficacy (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus turanicus) and repellent (anti-feeding) efficacy against tick infestations (Ixodes ricinus) for 8 months.
- The product is effective against larvae, nymphs and adult ticks.
- Ticks already present on the cat before treatment may not be killed within 48 hours after applying the collar and may remain attached and visible. It is therefore recommended to remove ticks already present on the cat at the time of application.
- Prevention of new tick infestations begins within two days after applying the collar.
- Ideally, the collar should be applied before the start of flea or tick season.
- Use during pregnancy and lactation: Laboratory studies with both flumethrin and imidacloprid on rats and rabbits have shown that there are no side effects on fertility or reproduction or teratogenic or foetotoxic effects. However, no toxicity studies have been conducted on target animals during pregnancy and lactation and therefore, in the absence of available data, the product is not recommended for females during pregnancy and lactation.
Contraindications:
Do not treat kittens under 10 weeks of age.
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.
Adverse reactions:
Occasionally, in the first days after application, mild behavioral disturbances, which may include scratching the application site, may be observed in animals that are not accustomed to wearing collars. Make sure the collar is not adjusted too tightly. Mild reactions may occur at the application site such as itching, erythema and hair loss. These reactions are reported as uncommon and usually resolve within 1-2 weeks without the need to remove the collar. In individual cases, temporary removal of the collar may be recommended until symptoms disappear. In rare cases, application site reactions such as dermatitis, inflammation, eczema or lesions may occur and in these cases removal of the collar is recommended. Furthermore, in rare cases, mild and transient reactions such as depression, change in appetite, salivation, vomiting and diarrhea may initially occur. As with other topical applications, allergic contact dermatitis may occur in hypersensitive animals.
